Inspired by the novel 1984 by George Orwell, this opening title sequence sets the tone for the film using audio, video, and graphic manipulation.
The goal of this sequence was to explore a new interpretation of 1984 in a more contemporary light. This modern take on false information, controlled media, and excessive restrictions on speech and advertising begin to interact with the realities going on in the world.
Opportunities to hack the system and expose the truth are explored in this sequence through the use of glitch effects and overlapping audio. Research was completed in order to find real video and news footage.
